Objective:
Learn to configure and use VPN features in DrayTek router.
|
Session 1: Introduction to VPN
In this session we will look at what is VPN and its uses. The type of VPN tunnels will also be covered as well as the different types of VPN protocols in use in DrayTek routers. VPN configuration options in DrayTek routers will also be covered and hands on sessions will allow you to practice what you have learnt in configuring and testing dial-up VPN tunnels using different VPN protocols.
Session 2: LAN -to- LAN VPN Tunnels
This session continuous from session 1 and will look in more detail of how LAN to LAN VPN tunnels work showing the steps involved in establishing a LAN to LAN VPN tunnel between a VPN client and VPN server. Configuration options in DrayTek routers will be covered as well as a configuration example. You can apply this knowledge in the hands-on exercise to set up an IPSec LAN to LAN VPN tunnel between two DrayTek routers.
Session 3: VPN Load Balance
This builds upon the previous session and will show how to establish VPN load balancing over multiple VPN tunnels to create a higher bandwidth link as well as redundancy to a remote site.
The hands-on exercise builds upon the previous exercise to create a load balanced VPN tunnel between two DrayTek routers.
Session 4: VPN Management
DrayTek provide a couple of management tools to autoconfigure and manage LAN to LAN VPN tunnels in DrayTek routers. These tools which remove the frustration of setting up VPN tunnels are VigorACS 2 and Central VPN Management (CVM) which is built into the router. This workshop gives you an overview of these tools and goes into the configuration required.
In the hands-on session use CVM to establish LAN to LAN VPN tunnels between the central router and remote routers to re-enforce what you have learnt.
